Excursion destinations around Todtmoos: St. Blasien
St. Blasien lies at the foot of the Feldberg. The landmark of this town is the cathedral with its impressive dome. The cathedral is the third largest dome church in Europe, with a diameter of 46 metres and a height of 63 metres. It was built at the end of the 18th century and modelled from the Basilica of Saint Peter in Rome.
Today the cathedral is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Southern Black Forest, especially in the summer months. Every year from the end of June until the beginning of September the international summer concerts take place here. Famous musical ensembles and choirs from all over the world perform here.
